ONA Environmental Committee

The ONA Environmental Committee, led by Joshua Lamb, works to beautify the neighborhood with planting projects, trash cleanups, and US flag placement.

Here are a few of the services the ONA Environmental Committee and Volunteers provide:

  • Maintain the neighborhood landscaping
  • Oversee a contractor who mows about 1.6 miles of perimeter parkway
  • Plant flowers and shrubs in planting beds at all nine entrances, three median islands, and along the parkway on Shiloh
  • Inspect and maintain five sprinkler systems
  • Trim trees in parkways along Belt Line, Shiloh, and Buckingham
  • Provide trash cleanups
  • Place US flags at entryways on holidays

ONA Contracted Landscaper

Contact Environmental Director at Environment@oakridgena.org to volunteer.

While the ONA Environmental Committee does a considerable amount of volunteer work, they also employ the services of a landscape company to mow the green spaces around our neighborhood perimeter as well as assist with larger landscape tasks (such as tree pruning) and projects (such as redoing the entrance beds). We currently employ – and highly recommend – the services of Goodbee Lawns at gianni@goodbeelawns.com.

Displaying Flags

U.S. flags should be displayed from sunrise to sunset, as weather permits.

To learn more about flag flying etiquette, you can visit any number of sites on the internet. Here is one example: https://www.aflag.com/flag-etiquette/.
