Community Meeting
Thursday, January 22, 2026
6:30 PM
North Garland Library | 3845 N. Garland Ave
There will be a community-wide meeting for ALL Oakridge residents by the developer regarding the future of the Duck Creek Golf Course and housing. This meeting is not sponsored by the Oakridge Neighborhood Association.
Charles Covey of LandVest Development has expressed intent to purchase the golf course and will attend this meeting in person to speak with residents about a proposed Build-to-Rent (BTR) development model he is considering for our neighborhood. Come learn how this would impact EVERY Oakridge resident, rentals and homeowners. You don’t want to miss this event.
The ONA Board met with LandVest Development via Zoom to discuss their proposed plans for the Duck Creek Golf Course. While we raised many questions—especially regarding the proposed Build-to-Rent (BTR) housing model—several key questions remain unanswered.
Because of this, we strongly encourage all Oakridge residents to attend the upcoming Community Meeting and come prepared with your own questions for the developer. Your voice and participation are essential to understanding how this proposal could impact our neighborhood.
Although LandVest Development discussed potential beautification of the golf course, the larger concern remains the scope and nature of the BTR development and how it may affect Oakridge long-term.
LandVest Development Proposal for Oakridge:
- A 400+ unit Build-to-Rent (BTR) community, significantly increasing density within Oakridge.
- A “Missing Middle” mix of housing types, including townhomes, multi-family mansion-style buildings, and cottage units, added parking lots and misc. buildings
- Conversion of the existing 18-hole golf course into a 9-hole match-play style course, fundamentally altering a defining neighborhood feature.
Come learn how this would impact EVERY Oakridge resident, rentals and homeowners. You don’t want to miss this event.
Need a ride to the meeting? Want to join a task force committee? Have other questions? Contact [email protected]
Missing the meeting? Here’s what you can do – write a letter of your intent and have someone designated to read it for you. Your district director can assist you. Find your District Director HERE
